Building Products Inc. of Iowa began business
with 8 employees on October 1, 1984. The warehouse, located at 333
North Evans Road in Waterloo, Iowa had 36,720 sq. feet enclosed storage.
Delivery was once per week with two 1-ton 5th wheel pickups and three 20 ft. trailers.
Today Building
Products Inc. of
Iowa employs over 90 full-time personnel. Ten semi-tractors pulling 48 ft. curtain
vans allow delivery a minimum of twice a week. The present warehouse of
180,000 sq. ft. under one roof plus a separate 10,000 sq. ft. building gives
the necessary space to distribute
products from over 90 manufacturers to over 400 dealers. The
most recent value added project is producing pre-finished millwork and
painted steel doors from "state-of-the-art" shops.
